SG Operations Structure
From EGEE-see WIki
The EGEE SEE ROC operates in a fully distributed fashion, and inclusion of the beneficiary countries will follow that model, with many common and some distinct responsibilities being assigned to partner countries.
The SEE-GRID Project Steering Committee (PSC) has the overall responsibility for the achievement of a core project objective which is the extension of the EGEE-SEE ROC and in general of the entire operation within the framework of the SEE-GRID project. This responsibility is effective in the period of operation during which the SEE-GRID operations are not fully aligned with the EGEE operations. At the point when they are, the EGEE ROC will acquire responsibility. In addition, the following roles can be identified based on the above diagram:
- SEE Regional Operations Centre (ROC) Manager: this is the coordinator of the Grid operations in the SEE region, as provided by EGEE.
- SEE Certification Authority (CA) Manager: this is the overall responsible for the operation of the SEE-GRID “catch-all” Certification Authority, including issuing certificates to the grid users.
- SEEREN Access Port Manager (APM): this is the overall coordinator for network operations in the SEE region.
- SEE-GRID partner Grid Infrastructure Manager (GIM): this is the responsible for Grid operations in each SEE-GRID partner per country.
- SEE-GRID partner Registration Authority Manager (RAM): this is the responsible for verifying a grid user’s identity in order for the SEE CA manager to be able to issue the certificate to that user.
- Partner Access Port Manager (APM): this is the responsible for network operations in each SEE-GRID partner per country. In case that the SEE-GRID APM is the same person as the Country APM (as assigned in the SEEREN project) then this person communicates directly with the SEEREN APM. Otherwise, the SEE-GRID APM will communicate with his/her Country APM who will then communicate any issues to the SEEREN APM.
