SG Site registration
From EGEE-see WIki
The purpose of this procedure is to present all the steps that a new site should perform in order to get registered and be certified as a SEE-GRID-2 site. This is the draft procedure still in consideration by the SEE-GRID-2 Project Steering Committee. The candidate sites can be located at SEE-GRID-2 contractors, 3rd parties, or in other interested institutions. To join SEE-GRID-2 infrastructure, candidate sites from SEE-GRID-2 countries must follow all the steps described below.
1) Administrator at candidate site joins local SEE-GRID-2 Grid Infrastructure Manager mailing list (national mailing list which was setup by the contractor - see-grid-contractorcode-gim@contractors.domain) and informs SEE-GRID GIMs through the SEE-GRID GIM (see-grid-gim@see-grid.eu) mailing list about the new site, requesting help in planning or installing the site if necessary.
2) Administrator at candidate site obtains personal and host certificates from national or SEE-GRID Certification Authority (CA). Please refer to SEE-GRID CA web page for details and to SEE-GRID-GIM list for help.
3) Team leader at candidate site sends statement of acceptance of SEE-GRID-2 policy documents (to be accepted by the Project Steering Committee) by digitally signed email to all administrative contacts and GIMs of SEE-GRID-2 consortium (template will be provided by the Project Steering Committee).
4) The site is to be registered in HGSM. For that its administrator should ask GIM for the corresponding country to create an entry for the new site. The site administrator should provide his/her certificate's DN in order to have granted rights to edit the site data. The site administrator should fill in all the site configuration details which are requested in HGSM. This information must be validated by the local GIM.
5) After receiving site contact information and statement of acceptance of SEE-GRID-2 policy documents from the team leader, country representative in SEE-GRID Helpdesk creates account for the candidate site and informs the administrator.
6) Administrator at candidate site MUST join SEEGRID VO. Then he/she installs current version of grid middleware accepted officially by SEE-GRID-2. New site MUST support SEEGRID and DTEAM Virtual Organizations (VO), and MUST apply all SEE-GRID specific customizations as described in SEE-GRID Wiki or in other documents officially accepted by SEE-GRID-2.
7) The site is now registered and has uncertified status in SEE-GRID-2 infrastructure. In order to get certified, the site administrator and country GIM should perform certification tests against the site. Usage of SEE-GRID Standalone SFT is recommended.
8) After local tests, country GIM certifies new site in HGSM and switches on its monitoring. Now candidate site is included into SEE-GRID-2 infrastructure and SEE-GRID-2 community should be notified through the see-grid-all@see-grid.eu mailing list. The following additional steps by the country GIM are necessary:
- Notification of SEE-GRID Registry, by providing the site IP numbers through the SEE-GRID Helpdesk ticket to the appropriate support unit;
- Addition of the site to the SEE-GRID GridICE monitoring, by providing site GIIS URL through the SEE-GRID Helpdesk ticket to the appropriate support unit;
- Addition of the site to the SEE-GRID SFTs, by providing site GIIS URL through the SEE-GRID Helpdesk ticket to the appropriate support unit;
9) After its inclusion into the SEE-GRID-2 infrastructure, candidate site is lightly tested and certified by SEE-GRID-2 Grid Operators on Duty. Helpdesk can also be used for pointers on how to solve configuration problems if any.
